We had an AMAZING, wonderfully romantic trip. We got our key, and made it to our condo around 8 or so on Saturday night. It was a really, really pretty place, located on the top floor, but the best part was the VIEW from the balcony. Waking up to the views of the mountains, with the fog settled between the valleys was just incredible, and it takes your breath away.
On Sunday, we got up and I made a breakfast of scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls. We got ready pretty quickly, and went out to go skiing! Unfortunately, we just missed the beginner's class, so we got our skis and went out to the learning area to wait for the next one. I got a little brave, and we moved on to one of the slopes. I have to admit, it is a little harder and much more terrifying than it looks! Keeping my balance was the least of my worries in comparison to trying to turn, or stop. There was a surprising amount of people there for being opening weekend, so my biggest worry was running into people. Stopping is a lot harder than it looks. :)
In any event, we made it back in one piece! We relaxed for a bit before getting ready for dinner. We found out at the last minute that the Coppermine is only open for breakfast on Sunday, so we had to make other reservations. Ryan had heard good things about a nice Italian restaurant at the bottom of the mountain, so we made reservations there. We had a wonderful, delicious dinner there! When we told our waitress that it was our anniversary, she goes, "Oh! Wait, I have something for you," and she came back with a little bottle of champagne.
After dinner, we went to the resort to take pictures! There were a few pictures I had wanted to take last year, but didn't, so I got them this time around. :) We went back our place from there, where we watched our wedding DVD, (LOVED it!) cut our cake, and toasted with champagne that my coworker gave us as an anniversary gift. :)
It was really a wonderful trip... honestly, I'm ready to go back!
